Communications EXPLORERS POST

The Communications Explorers Post is for young people ages 15 to 20
who are interested in pursuing a career in the communications field.
Exploring is a national program of Learning for Life. Exploring’s
purpose is to provide experiences to help young people mature and to
prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Organizations that
sponsor Explorers posts match their people and program resources to the
interests of young people in the community. The result is a program of
activities that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow and
develop. Exploring programs are based on five areas of emphasis: career
opportunities, life skills, citizenship, character education and
leadership experience.
Students from any area high school are
welcome to join. Charter members of Communications Explorers Post 3411
were Claire Anderson, Jay Copland, Kelly Dwyer, Lauren Effertz, Jennifer
Krane, Maggie Langford and Kelly Slater of Benilde-St. Margaret High
School; Caitlyn Duggan, J.D. Loyle and Jack Swiler of Edina High School;
Ingrid Curtis, Julia Neal and Marion Canales of St. Louis Park High
School; and William Kenney of Totino-Grace High School.
Lauren
was elected the Post’s first President. Jay and William were named Vice
Presidents and Kelly Slater Secretary. They will serve as officers
through January 2012.
Communications Explorers Post 3411
typically meets the last Wednesday of the month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
