Val’s Corner
By John Valliere
Is the end of the golf season really upon us? Wow. The golf course is now 45 years old.
Another successful year is in the book. We grew in new directions with the welcoming of non-residents to our patron ranks. This was not more evident than in our Braemar Men’s Club, which saw 50 new members – most of whom were non-residents. We saw growth in all of our leagues this year.
Looking ahead, we would like to welcome you to the Braemar Golf Dome for some winter recreation, to see your golf buddies and keep your swing in shape. The dome officially opens Nov. 1. Check out the website www.BraemarGolfDome.com for hours and pricing.
Dan Geske, our Club Champion, who sports a handicap of 1 said, “I do not practice much at all during the summer months, I mostly play. However, in the winter, I practice in the dome and take lessons. I have gone from a 6 down to a 1.” Now that is a great testimonial.
I would like to recognize and thank the staff at Braemar and Fred Richards. They toil unselfishly seven days a week, including holidays, from early morning to after sundown. They do it with a smile and are always ready to serve you. I am proud of the job they do, and I hope you agree.
Thanks for a great year! See you in the pro shop and, of course, at the dome.
